AA Girls Basketball Title to St Peters Cambridge

    

SCHICK NATIONAL SCHOOLS BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

St Peters School Cambridge claimed their third “AA” Secondary Schools Basketball Girls Championship in four years after defeating Hutt Valley High in the final on Saturday. The team was lead by Charlisse Leger-Walker who was later named Tournament MVP for Girls. St Peters was off to an excellent start leading at the break by almost 30 points at 50 -21. They maintained their dominance throughout winning by 92 – 51.

In the Boys “AA” St Johns College who narrowly lost by a single pint to StPatrickss Of Kilbirnie, WLG, in the semi-final went on to play St Kentigern College in the third place play-off and went down by 10 points 65 – 75.

The “A” division of the tournament has wrapped up several days ahead of the “AA” division with the following results for Waikato regional teams. Unfortunately Stratford High was too strong for Te Aroha College in the Boys “A” final
