Term 3 Recap

Term 3 in Waikato was a vibrant showcase of athletic talent and competitive spirit across a variety of sports. From the intense netball tournaments and thrilling football leagues to the strategic badminton championships and hard-hitting rugby matches, young athletes demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication. Lacrosse and basketball also provided exciting moments, rounding out a term filled with memorable performances and spirited competition. And with that Winter Sports have officially finished making way for Summer Sports to begin.


Netball

Term 3 in Waikato saw intense netball action with the HCNC Secondary Premier and Development Tournament, where young athletes showcased their skills and teamwork. The Zone Premier and Development Tournament further highlighted regional talent, bringing together competitive teams from across the area. The Indoor Open Grade Premier Competition and the Secondary School Competition were also fiercely contested, with players demonstrating exceptional agility and strategic play. The Saturday and Thursday Open Grade Competitions provided additional opportunities for local netball enthusiasts to shine. Badminton

The South Waikato Secondary Schools Mixed Badminton Championships were a highlight of the term, featuring impressive displays of speed, precision, and coordination. Young badminton players from various schools competed fiercely, making it a memorable event for participants and spectators alike.

Football

Football enthusiasts enjoyed a variety of competitions, including the 5-a-side matches that brought fast-paced excitement to the field. The girls’ and boys’ leagues were equally thrilling, with teams showing remarkable skill and sportsmanship. Rugby

Rugby 15s for both boys and girls was a standout this term, with teams demonstrating incredible teamwork, strength, and strategy. The matches were hard-fought and showcased the physical prowess and dedication of the players. Both boys’ and girls’ teams left it all on the field, making for an exhilarating season. Lacrosse

Lacrosse continued to grow in popularity, with players displaying impressive athleticism and tactical awareness.
